While searching through the many Worship focused emails frequently arriving daily, I found a free download from Deluge Band. It was an mp3 of "Dear Jesus".
My wife and I had been searching for music to learn and add to our short list of songs we sing as a Duet. This day was not a discovery day for Duet music, it was solo time. From the first few words of the song, I realized it was going to be a blessing to many. "Dear Jesus" is personal for anyone who sings or hums its melody.
Most importantly, it speaks of His salvation and a relationship with our Lord. The song is not too complicated and continues on to declare truths from the bible of His divine love and the only name under heaven or in earth by which we must be saved…Jesus! It ends beautifully with nothin’ but WORSHIP.
Jesus, Dear Jesus,
I live to know You more You purchased me with eternal blood Spread on the mercy seat Jesus, Dear Jesus, Your mercy is divine For while in sin, You loved me so You came and gave your life
Oh how I love you Oh how I love you Oh how I love you I will give my life to You
Jesus, Dear Jesus how precious is your name There is none else in all the earth By which I can be saved
Oh how I love you Oh how I love you Oh how I love you I will give my life to You
You truly are my King And I will serve Your Throne To worship You alone
I can hear the angels sing And bow before your Throne To worship You alone
Oh how I love You, I will give my life to You
